I-Tel is an indirect procurement specialist. We help companies to save money, improve buying efficiency and to build strong supply chains. We do so by managing the entire purchase to pay cycle, from initial spend audit through to sourcing, storage and delivery of goods.

How we got here

I-Tel Group was born in 2006 as a garage startup, collecting used printer cartridges from businesses and remanufacturing them into high quality recycled products.

This green initiative provided companies with a viable alternative to mainstream brands, reducing environmental impact and offering substantial cost savings without compromising on quality.

Our cartridges quickly became the favoured choice for businesses, establishing I-Tel a nationwide customer base of corporate clients.

With printer cartridges closely linked to technology and office supplies, I-Tel customers soon began enquiring about products in these sectors. Having established close relationships with leading tech and office distribution channels, we saw an opportunity to expand our offering, working in partnership with corporate businesses to provide the supplies they need.

2018

Built new offices & refurbished HQ

Our new offices include 1000 sq. ft for expansion of our procurement and sales support teams. In addition to refurbishment of our offices and meeting rooms, we also installed solar panels and LED lighting to reduce our environmental impact.

A premium service designed to drive procurement efficiencies for medium to large scale businesses through consolidation, leveraging economies of scale with advanced level bespoke reporting.

I-Tel celebrates 10 years in business

The company celebrated continued year-on-year growth over the decade. From small beginnings to an offering of over 7 million products, 300 global distributors and monthly cartridge recycling exceeding 10,000 units per month, it’s a proud milestone for the business.

Dedicated account management and access to partner only pricing, deals and promotions with the trusted market leading technology provider.

2015

Invested heavily in back office infrastructure

To support the growth of the business and deliver better processes, we added several layers of automation and electronic links with our suppliers. The company was able expand its product listing to a vast range of IT and office products and to better serve its nationwide customer base.

2014

Earned ISO 14001 accreditation for sustainability certification

Committed to the environment, we extended our QMS to a Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS). Audited and certified by SGS, governed by UKAS and recognised globally.

2013

Moved into new 5000 sq. ft purpose-built facility

Bringing everything together to encompass R&D, production, warehousing, distribution, sales and customer service.

2011

Reman Plus trade division was launched

Following our trade partners to extend their product ranges with their own brand of high quality remanufactured cartridges and support services. www.remanplus.co.uk

2010

ISO 9001 certification

Audited and certified by SGS, governed by UKAS and recognised globally for the successful implantation, management and ongoing development of our quality management system (QMS).

2008

New offices to serve customers nationwide

Sales and customers services were located at Caspian Point Cardiff Bay whilst production was increased in our manufacturing unit to 1,500 sq. ft. through a mezzanine floor install.

2006

Move into 1,000 sq. ft. manufacturing unit

With the business incorporated, the company invested in the expansion of our production to cope with increased demand of our recycled products. Distribution was initially local, in the South Wales area.

2005

Home Start-up

Our directors started R&D, production and then sales of remanufactured printer cartridges from their home and garage.

Melvin Gauci

Managing Director

Managing Director and founding partner at I-Tel Group Mel has been instrumental in transforming the business from a start-up cartridge manufacturing facility to a innovative forward thinking procurement company. With 15 years at the helm and in depth knowledge of I.T. infrastructure and data analysis I-Tel Group is today one of the latest key players in the indirect procurement space.

Andrew Plummer

Operations Director

A co-founder from the outset Andy has headed the operations team for I-Tel group. An engineer by trade Andy has a vast experience in manufacturing, logistics and warehousing. Overseeing the day to day complexities of our hybrid model and ensuring all the individual parts function to produce the seamless highly efficient business model we see today.

Paul Keenan

Head of client services

Paul has over 30 years’ experience in B2B sales in both the public and private sector and heads up our client services division. Overseeing high value public and private sector contracts Paul has in depth knowledge of the industry. Key contact to senior management and C suite clients with a problem solving, customer service excellence ideology.

Dee Sarikaya

Marketing & communications manager

An impressive background with blue chip companies Dee is a former global B2B Commercial manager for Dyson. A proven track record in marketing and communications Dee is responsible for I-Tel’s client onboarding and messaging. With huge experience in strategic international campaigns and working effectively in cross-functional teams Dee brings strong commercial acumen alongside an excellent ability to interact and influence at all levels.

James Dobson

Financial Solutions Advisor

James is a fellow of the institute of chartered accountants and has held senior positions with PwC and most recently Azets. He plays a pivotal role in providing financial direction and guidance for integrated solutions. Experienced in dealing with group reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals and has significant experience of working with companies under UK GAAP, US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Gareth Thompson

Legal & Compliance

Gareth is a qualified, senior commercial solicitor with 30 years’ experience. As counsel to the directors Gareth brings a wealth of experience to enhance I-Tel’s legal compliance and ensure supply chain legitimacy. Overseeing all our commercial agreements and supporting the individual requirements of our clients, Gareth brings tremendous credibility to the whole organisation.

Gareth Shaw

Senior Procurement Consultant – MCIPS

Gareth has over 19 years’ experience in commercial procurement contract management across both public and private sector. Holding senior positions at the Ministry of Justice and Turner and Townsend Gareth has overseen several multi million-pound contracts. Guiding I-Tel in best practice and sustainability while offering practical solutions to steer our procurement team towards red tape reduction and compliant, efficient services.
