The Works is one of the UK’s leading multi-channel specialist retailers of value gifts, arts, crafts, toys, books and stationery. They sell high-quality, great value products in four specialist categories, primarily through their network of approximately 530 stores in the UK & Ireland. The stores can be found on high-streets, in retail parks, shopping centres and as concessions in various locations. I-Tel Group were approached to assist with the sourcing, supply and distribution of Hygiene and Janitorial products across The Works estate. Liaising with manufacturers and the central distribution hub I-Tel would need to deliver competitive pricing and on demand deliveries nationwide.

Solutions summary

I-Tel offers storage and stock management therefore we were able to capitalise on our internal warehousing and logistics operation. Analysing The Works historical purchasing data allowed us to place bulk orders with suppliers well in advance, ensuring we had stock palletised and readily available for scheduled deliveries. Stock forecasting is a major component in our offering, driving down pricing through bulk buy initiatives and reducing our carbon footprint.
