UNEP-WCMC is a collaboration between the UN environment Programme and the UK charity, WCMC. Their 300 strong international teamwork with scientists and policy makers worldwide to place biodiversity at the heart of environmental and development decision making and to enable enlightened choices for people and the planet. I-Tel were tasked to conduct an I.T spend review audit, which highlighted a savings opportunity of 14% which is significant for this category. This led to a proposal for a single source procurement solution for the supply and delivery of IT products and related support services. WCMC has a fragmented workforce based around the globe. Standardising ranges, purchase transparency and admin reduction would be attractive in addition to the main driver of cost savings.

I-Tel’s E-procurement platform is electronically linked with full visibility of the authorised IT distribution channel including live stock levels and pricing integrated. The system was configured to cater for all WCMC’s requirements, delivering product consistency and notable savings. Our I.T Support team were trained to support installation of non-standard software, and facilitating a fast turnaround. Administration has been reduced and consolidated with customised import ready invoicing, mapped to cost centres and expense codes as an attractive option.
